  Say you could go back in time to when you were 15 years old. No Watchtower in your life. But the experience you have now you could keep. What career choice would you make?

  Any choice you wanted but no guarantees that you would be successful in your career. That’s just life whether you get trapped by the Watchtower or NOT.

  It will depend on your planning, the talent you develop, your persistence, timing, the breaks you make for yourself.

  Would you play it safe and choose a more stable career like Doctor, engineer, Lawyer, etc, or would you take a chance and try to make it big as a musician like Justin Bieber or Taylor Swift.

  Or would you be persistent and try to be a producer like Steven Spielberg or George Lucas. Or would you give it a shot to be a movie star like Michelle Rodriguez and hang out with all the other movie stars?

  Would you give it a try at being an Entrepreneur like Mark Zuckerberg or Jeff Bezos. Would you go to school with the goal of being a successful hedge fund manager like James Harris Simons.

  At what age would you marry? Or would you prefer to stay single?

  Watchtower or not, success might come or it might slip through your fingers. Divorce, accident, illness, or just plain bad luck can throw you off the tacks for good.

  But sometimes pursuing your dreams whether you are successful or not, give you a sense of satisfaction that at least you had “The Chance To Give It A Shot, and You gave it Your Best Shot”

  just watch the movie "contact" and it gave me an idea.. our population on earth today 8-9 billion, a day where all of mankind pray, beseech,.

  plead for god to show us a sign that he is still up there.

  one day all around the world.

  Looking Back in Retrospect to 1995 ...

  i very much enjoyed reading through titch's thread: 'looking back in retrospect to 1975 ...' and all the comments from posters that lived through that event and remembered it.. i was born in 1979, so had nothing to offer for that thread.. however, i do remember very clearly living through 1995 (the end of the 1914 generation) and remember how it affected me and my view of the wts.

  up until oct/nov 1995, i genuinely believed the society to be god's one true earthly organisation.

  the watchtower presenting the new meaning of generation seriously shook my faith in the wts and, i suppose, started me on my journey to ttatt.

  I'd give anything to have a respectful family, a wife who doesn't cheat and kids that don't steal and grow up to be murders! That's it end of!

  The Watchtower has admitted many times in their publications that over 40,000 Jehovah’s Witnessess are disfellowshipped every year.

  And for what?

  Unrepentant gross sins like Adultery and fornication.

  UNREPENTANT GROSS SINS!!!!

  That doesn’t include the thousands who don’t get caught for pedophilia until years later.

  when you were attending the kingdom halls did you see feuds and hate filled wars against members working on the new personality?

  how strong were the elders in keeping their halls filled with love not hatred, jesus said everyone would be filled with love, there was no room for hatred in jesus christ's view of how christians ought to act!

  when you see children shunning parents, parents shunning children, aunts, uncles, grandma and grandpas displaying qualities jesus said were "instant tickets to hell" why do the jws keep attending the meetings if their filled with hate?

  there are literally about thirty young single very good looking sisters in this one kingdom hall under the age of 30. that is just one kingdom hall.

  in the circuit there are literally hundreds of young beautiful jw girls under 30 who are single and anxious to get married.

  about two years ago, this one single good looking brother who is about 30 years old and who is an elder married this plain looking sister who is 59 years old.

  I think a great percentage of male JWs have self esteem issues. That's why they are still JWs.

  after a few months of lurking on this site, i've decided to take the plunge...i don't really care so much about introducing myself, but somehow there is some relief in the thought of getting my little story out there, just getting it out of my system.

  Welcome, things will get easier and clearer as you get older. In the meantime stay away from the Watchtower, they will just stunt your growth as a thinking person. And start enjoying your life without the constant fear of guilt or the feeling that you are displeasing God. That feeling has been implanted in you by the WT. It takes a while to get rid of it.
